Lent Day 2

with 5 comments
Just call me Mr. Deeds. Yup, I've done two good deeds now.

A girlfriend that I've fallen out of touch with from high school is having a baby girl in March sometime. I messaged her on Facebook for her address and am sending her this.
I was so proud to show off this flower. I was amazed at my crocheting ability and how far I've come!
So, it will be in the mail tomorrow.
Oh, were you missing a daily dose of Tommy?

Much obliged.

What are YOU giving up for Lent?

with 3 comments
I asked my husband this last night. And he said, "Well I plan to diet and get in at least 30 minutes of exercise a day." Since when has Lent become a New Year's resolution-type deal? Remember how Jesus gave his life for us and all that? Umm...I do.

But really, I retorted with something to the effect of "You're so lame! It's not about what you are giving up for Lent, it's what you are GIVING for Lent." He said that was good. Really insightful. Really deep.

Insert cute baby picture here.
I was inspired by my new neighbor, who, while I was at PJ storytime last night, dropped off a bowl of beef stew, a hunk of bread, and some brownies. Just because. And it was bomb.

For Lent, I want to do a good deed every day. Something cheesy like pay for the people behind me at the drive-thru or give a homeless guy a $20 instead of my leftover change. I want to document here, not because I want to be all like "Hey, I did this awesome, selfless thing today." More because I want to be accountable to something/someone.

My first good deed:
Wrote my lonely Grandma a note just to say I love her. I think she'll like it. I don't know if this qualifies as a good deed. It's more like a nice thing to do.  I'm warming up, okay?
I'm considering this picture a good deed since it made you laugh.

A Whole Lot O' Love

with 6 comments
I love the people who say, "I hate Valentine's day. It's such a Hallmark holiday." Those people have sucky husbands or are single.
My husband wrote me a Valentine's day song.  And took me out to  one of my favorite restaurants. And then made me a Valentine's day Powerpoint presentation.

And special delivery to my man.
 A book of love coupons:

I left two of them out for your sake. You're welcome.

My littlest love got two new books.
Just Go To Bed. My thoughts exactly.
 Okay, you can stay up.
Happy Valentine's Day. Because Hallmark isn't so bad after all.

Ten on Ten: An Exercise in Futility

with 3 comments
Got this idea on Facebook. It was fun...for three hours. Then, my compulsive side took over and I was obligated to finish.

At 9:00am, I left the guys like this:

At 10:00am, I was in full-swing Monday mode:
At 11:00am, I couldn't wait any longer for my fix:
At 12:00pm, my dad brought me lunch (and I switched up my photo style):
At 1:00pm, Collin brought the baby in for his lunch:

At 2:00pm, the baby left. Yeah, I have the best job ever:
At 3:00pm, I was actually busy:
At 4:00pm, I ran out of crap to take pics of at work:
At 5:00pm, I got home (yay!):
At 6:00pm, I had just finished my workout with this ho:
And at 7:00pm, ten hours later, me and this guy sat down for a lovely dinner of a sandwich and Sun Chips:
Now, at about 5:00pm, Collin said to me: "Who really cares what you're doing every hour on the hour?" And while he was right, he deserves this:
He read this book to Tommy, last night. And he couldn't finish. Because he was CRYING. Weak.

30 Day Shred or How I Learned to Hate Jillian Michaels (and those other two bitches)

with 6 comments
If it wasn't for my our-babies-were-born-on-the-same-day-mom-friend, Jessi, my legs wouldn't be buckling, my arms wouldn't be Jello-y, I wouldn't be writing this post, and I wouldn't have started the 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels. Also, thanks to Ashley and her inspiring Facebook posts, working out wouldn't even be on my radar.

This is my mom blog and this may very well be the worst part of being a mom.
What the hell is that thing? My stomach used to be my best feature. Now I have this. Thanks to an almost ten pound baby, gallons of amniotic fluid and not to mention general laziness, I will never go back.
But, that doesn't mean I don't have to try. The hardest part about trying is taking a half hour and putting everything else aside. That means I can't put away the dishes.
Get started on the laundry.
Or even clean up the baby's toys.
I just have to stick him...
In here...
And do it. For the next thirty days. Godspeed.

Tuesday: Yep, I made that!

It's safe to say I made that. I haven't had a lot of time lately. We did get a new computer and I also made this:
I will get crafty again soon. I guarantee it!

Blogadocious

I'm going to brag a little bit. My baby is super cute and ridiculously advanced.

His hair grew so fast I had to give him his first dorky haircut. Six months early.
Wow. That last one is a gem.

He's been to Disneyland three times in his short lil' life. Bet you can't say that about the average six month old.
(A rare sighting of the mom-cat)
He's seen it all.

He already has a really creepy-looking wax sculpture of himself.
Weirdest picture ever.

He glows in the light (I read him Twilight while he was in the womb...PSYCHE!)

He's already a ladykiller.
But, really they can't get enough of him.

Here's the real deal:
He's six months. Measuring in totally average. No teeth. No amazing early baby development feats (he's not talking or walking yet, not even crawling a little early.) But he's perfect. And the doctor looked at me like I was a nutcase when I asked him about early signs of autism. So...that's good. It's all good.
